Not all Grease is Made the Same

Not all grease is the same, and EP2 doesn't specify the type of grease it is (kind of). Let's start with the EP2 part, but first, a bit of background knowledge is needed. NLGI is a numerical grading system for lubricating grease consistency based on the international standard ASTM D217, and that is where EP2 comes from. The (EP) part of EP2 stands for extreme pressure and the 2 stand for the thickness/consistency (how runny) of the grease. Within that range, there are multiple formulations of grease for different situations. For example, in the picture there are 3 different formulations (Truck and Farm, Lithplex and Super Molly) all with different purposes (yes they can be used in most situations but they work better in specific situations).
